The School

Because of the tremendous need for quality education, Niños de la Luz (“Children of the Light”) Christian School was opened in 2008. Located on the same property as the boys home, it serves the children in the community as well as the younger boys living in the boys home. As the parent organization of Niños de la Luz (“Children of the Light”) our mutual belief is that providing a solid education has generational impact for breaking the cycle of poverty. In addition, we share the belief that a Christian education has impact for influencing lives spiritually and morally.

We seek sponsors to help fund scholarships for up to 120 students.  You can partner with us to provide a child with a quality education for $45.00 per month.

Q&A

We believe that transparency is key in our partnership with donors. Here are a few of the most commonly asked questions that we get asked when someone is considering a donation to the school.

WHAT DOES MY STUDENT TUITION DONATION COVER?

100% of your $45.00 monthly donation goes directly toward tuition, transportation, and materials.

CAN I SELECT MY STUDENT?

There are a number of reasons that we do not allow donors to hand select their own student. We care tremendously for each and every student at Niños de la Luz (“Children of the Light”) and never want a student to feel left out or unwanted. We do take into consideration your request for a specific grade and gender when assigning a student to your family! Please indicate in the "Additional Information" section of the donation page if you have a preference.

CAN I WRITE MY STUDENT?

Yes. Once you sponsor a student you will receive information on how to communicate with them.

CAN MY CLASSROOM/ORGANIZATION/BUSINESS SPONSOR AN ENTIRE GRADE?

YES!! There is nothing we would love more than to work with you to support an entire class. Feel free to contact us and we will walk you through the details of sponsoring an entire grade.

ARE THERE OTHER WAYS TO SUPPORT THE SCHOOL OUTSIDE OF SPONSORING A STUDENT?

Yes. A monthly contribution toward the school's general fund helps pay for operational expenses such as teachers, staff, security, maintenance and utilities.
